The Catholic Gospel is NO Gospel
The Roman Catholic Diocese of Raleigh, North Carolina is sponsoring a National Council for Catholic Evangelization meeting June 6-9. One of the keynote addresses will be by Dr. Seung Ai Yang entitled, "Holy Ground: As we approach another people, another culture in their lands, lives, faith, and in their stories."
A preview of her speech says:
"Christians have often believed that the proper way for people to accept the Good News is to give up their religion, traditions, and culture. A closer reading of the bible, however, reveals that we come nearer to God when we acknowledge the holiness of a people in their own culture."
I wonder what bible Miss Yang is reading? So Hindus, Buddhists, Moslems, Satan worshippers, etc., can stay what they are? They should not give up their "religion?" I suppose Miss Yang is able to go to Haiti and find some holiness in voodoo!
Jesus said in Luke 14:26, "IF ANY MAN COME TO ME, AND HATE NOT HIS FATHER, AND MOTHER, AND WIFE, AND CHILDREN, AND BRETHREN, AND SISTERS, YEA, AND HIS OWN LIFE, HE CANNOT BE MY DISCIPLE." 2 Corinthians 6:17 says, "WHEREFORE COME OUT FROM AMONG THEM, AND BE YE SEPARATE, SAITH THE LORD, AND TOUCH NOT THE UNCLEAN THING, AND I WILL RECEIVE YOU."
The common theme throughout the scriptures is of God's calling people to be separate. The Greek word for church, 'ekklesia,' has a meaning of "the called out ones." A gospel that refrains from "calling out" the people is no gospel at all!
When God was bringing Israel into the promised land, He commanded Israel to destroy the pagan cities, as we must repent of any vestige of false worship and idolatry in our own personal lives. God knew that if the pagans were allowed to stay, their idolatry would drag Israel down into false worship - as it did! As a matter of fact, one of the cities Israel had to destroy was named "Ai".
In Deuternomomy 12:30-31 God warns Israel, "HOW DID THESE NATIONS SERVE THEIR GODS?..THOU SHALT NOT DO SO UNTO THE LORD THY GOD; FOR EVERY ABOMINATION TO THE LORD, WHICH HE HATETH, HAVE THEY DONE UNTO THEIR GODS..."
I don't need a magisterium to see that it's very clear God does not want His children worshipping Him as the world worships their gods.
The conclusion to all this is that the Roman gospel allows for other gods, whereas the first commandment, "I AM THE LORD THY GOD, WHICH HAVE BROUGHT THEE OUT OF THE LAND OF EGYPT, OUT OF THE HOUSE OF BONDAGE. THOU SHALT HAVE NO OTHER GODS BEFORE ME," does not allow for other gods.
We have a choice - to believe the Roman gospel and it's easy compromise with pagan idols, or the real gospel of Jesus Christ. Acts 4:12 says, "NEITHER IS THERE SALVATION IN ANY OTHER; FOR THERE IS NONE OTHER NAME UNDER HEAVEN GIVEN AMONG MEN, WHEREBY WE MUST BE SAVED." How Rome and it's pagan friends hate the exclusiveness of Acts 4:12. I'll take faith in Jesus Christ ALONE.
May our Lord's Spirit open the eyes of Catholics to the compromise of Rome, may they confess Romanism as sin, and be born again! May God grant us a new Reformation.
