A Covenant of Compromise
"The Three Bishops in Celebration" is the title of an afternoon of apostacy taking place Sunday, June 3, at a Roman church in Cleveland, Ohio.
Roman Catholic Bishop Anthony Pilla will be joined by two oxen going to the slaughter, Lutheran Bishop Marcus Miller and Episcopal Bishop J. Clark Grew II, as they share in "solemn evening prayers."
To quote from the official Roman notice of this event, the bishops will sign a, "Covenant (that) specifies areas of cooperation of the social and educational institutions of the three church communities (Ed. note - I wonder if the Roman bishop will remind the other two bishops that the Vatican document issued last year, 'Dominus Iesus,' saying their churches are 'deficient?') and establishes an implementation committee for future projects."
And of course, "The prayer service is evening prayer according to the Roman Rite." I'm not surprised here! If they used some old Lutheran or Anglican prayers, it might speak about faith in Christ ALONE, or that the pope is the antichrist! One mention of "faith ALONE" can ruin a Catholic bishop's entire evening.
The last sentence of the notice is pure 'Romanese' and says, "While in the Catholic understanding full communion would envision governance under the college of bishops, eucharistic sharing for all, and sharing and interchange of ordained ministers, a covenant moves the churches from a general feeling of good will and hospitality to a serious commitment of realizing that our future is to be one in the Church of Christ."
Translated into plain English, Rome really means, "These guys aren't under our thumbs yet, but boy, are they close!" Oh these foolish men; some day their souls will be required of them and they will be found wanting.
A relationship with Rome is like a relationship with a whore! These men may find the Romish whore exciting now, "BUT THE END THEREOF ARE THE WAYS OF DEATH." Proverbs 7:25-27 says, "LET NOT THINE HEART DECLINE TO HER WAYS, GO NOT ASTRAY IN HER PATHS. FOR SHE HATH CAST DOWN MANY WOUNDED; YEA, MANY STRONG MEN HAVE BEEN SLAIN BY HER. HER HOUSE IS THE WAY TO HELL, GOING DOWN TO THE CHAMBERS OF DEATH."
May God's Spirit open people's eyes to this unholy ecumenism, let Catholics heed the word of God, flee the harlot church of Rome, repent, and receive by faith ALONE the one who hung on the cross ALONE, Jesus Christ.
