Christ Not Good Enough for Cleveland Bishop

The cultic nature of Roman Catholicism was evidenced in a recent column by Bishop Anthony Pilla titled, "Embracing the Cross is the Call of the Church," in the September 13 issue of the 'Catholic Universe Bulletin,' the newspaper of the Diocese of Cleveland, Ohio.

One mark of a cult is that it loves to add to the work of Christ, and Christ ALONE is certainly not sufficient for Bishop Pilla. Here are some examples of what "his excellency" wrote (certain words are emphasized):

1. "This weekend we observe the feasts of the Triumph of the Cross AND OUR LADY of Sorrows...We revere the suffering of Jesus AND MARY because of the manor in which THEY make THEIR suffering redemptive."

2. "Our faith teaches us that to suffer like Jesus under his cross OR MARY in her heart is the life experience most likely to draw us into union with the Kingdom of God."

3. "When we experience suffering like that of Jesus AND MARY we frequently pray first and most that it might end."

4. "None of that hope for the future should prevent us from standing in our pain and standing in it as did Jesus AND MARY."

It is blasphemy to equate the suffering of Christ on the cross for our sins with the suffering of any other creature!! Christ is denied every time someone says, "Jesus AND," "Jesus OR," or when words like "THEY" and "THEIR" are used to co-mingle the work of sinful man with the work of the sinless Christ.

May God protect His born again children from the ecumenical overtures of a Christ-denying Roman Church.
