A Catholic Priest Who Threatened a Girl

The Fall 2003 issue of the 'Good Newsletter,' a ministry of EWTN (American Catholic television) regulars Penny and Bob Lord, details the state of mind of Saint Padre Pio after a supposed encounter with the child Jesus. This was reported in an article titled, "Padre Pio and the Santo Bambino."

Padre Pio, whose real name was Francesco Forgione, was an Italian priest who lived from 1887-1968. Recently named a "saint" by the pope, Padre Pio had the "stigmata" - wounds in his hands and feet for over 50 years. Catholics attribute this to a work of God, but in all probability, these wounds were psychosomatically induced by Padre Pio himself.

Padre Pio had a great devotion to the "child" Jesus, despite the fact that the bible tells us Jesus of Nazareth grew to be a man in his early 30's (Luke 3:23), and that He remained a Man (Acts 7:56) after His ascension into heaven.

The article recounts what a girl named Lucia Ladanza saw while saying the rosary in a Catholic church on Dec 24, 1922:

"She heard a noise, and looked in the direction from which it came. From the internal stairway of the sacristy, she saw Padre Pio come down and stop near the window. All of a sudden, the entire room lit up. In a burst of heavenly light, there appeared the Child Jesus, resting in the arms of Padre Pio, whose face turned radiant...Padre Pio seem to her to be in ecstasy with his Lord, the Child Jesus."

So......what was Padre Pio's state of mind immediately after this spiritual encounter? The article continues:

"Then he (Pio) admonished her (Lucia) severely: 'Don't say anything to anyone or else I will wring your neck like a chicken.'"

The article goes on to make the excuse that Pio supposedly had a "glint of humor in his eyes" when he said that. But further on, the article also says, "She stayed at least a little more than an arm's length away from Padre Pio, for fear he might truly 'wring her neck like a chicken.'" Pio pretended he was only "joking," but Lucia knew better.

REAL encounters with Jesus Christ do not lead to adults threatening to wring the necks of children like chickens! BUT - an encounter with a demon posing as a child Jesus WOULD cause such an attitude.

Please continue to pray daily that our Lord Jesus Christ protects children from - the Roman Catholic priesthood.
