A More Catholic America - At Taxpayer's Expense

With the recent civil unrest in Haiti, the US Conference of Catholic Bishops Migration Committee Chairman, Bishop Thomas Wenski, issued a Feb 24 statement titled, "Bishop Articulates Principles for Responding to Possible Haitian Refugees."

This statement is a list of Roman demands to the US government regarding any refugees that leave Haiti. Some highlights:

1. "First, the United States should take steps to ensure that Haitian refugees are protected and given access to appropriate services...extra efforts should be made to help them feel that they are safe and secure. The United States should not place ships close to the shores of Haiti for the purpose of discouraging Haitians from fleeing violence or persecution. Neither should our country interdict refugees on the high seas and immediately return them to Haiti."

Comment - In other words, if any Haitians manage to get a rowboat out in the Caribbean, the US should do nothing to stop them from coming to the USA. Also - "access to appropriate services" would only encourage more to get to the USA.

2. "We oppose the use of the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base for such (refugee) processing. The prison-like atmosphere at Guantanamo Bay would only exacerbate any trauma these refugees have experienced..."

Comment - Rome is getting bold! Guantanamo Bay is good enough for US Marines and Sailors to be stationed at, but NOT good enough for Haitian refugees!

3. "In times of crisis some people turn to their faith traditions to seek comfort and strength. The US government should ensure that the refugees have access to religious services."

Comment - So Rome wants the US government to make sure Haitians can practice their Catholic/Voodoo mix of religion.

The Catholic Church is not interested in the welfare of Haitians, but in bringing more Catholics to the USA at taxpayer expense. Rome is ALWAYS "compassionate" with OTHER people's money.

That flock of vultures, the US Catholic Bishops, won't be satisfied in dragging down the USA until the poverty of Portland, Maine reaches the level of Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Please pray daily that God protect the USA from - the Roman Catholic Church.
