Bishop Encourages Catholics in the Sin of Pride

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Roman bishop Donald Wuerl, at a July 19 conference at the Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio, encouraged 1300 Catholics in the sin of pride. This was reported in the July 25 issue of the 'Pittsburgh Catholic,' the Diocese of Pittsburgh newspaper, in an article titled, "Bishop Receives Courage Award." His 'excellency' told the crowd:

"If we are alive in the Spirit, we should be proud of our faith."

And, the message was clearly understood by Catholics there. To further quote the article, "For one conference attendee...it was a message worth hearing. 'I was thrilled to hear Bishop Wuerl say to be proud of your faith,' she said."

Pride was the original sin of Satan as he sought to be like God! Isaiah 14:13-14 describes the iniquity found in Lucifer that caused his fall from heaven:

"FOR THOU (Satan) HAST SAID IN THINE HEART, I WILL ASCEND INTO HEAVEN, I WILL EXALT MY THRONE ABOVE THE STARS OF GOD: I WILL SIT ALSO UPON THE MOUNT OF THE CONGREGATION, IN THE SIDES OF THE NORTH: I WILL ASCEND ABOVE THE HEIGHTS OF THE CLOUDS, I WILL BE LIKE THE MOST HIGH."

The bible teaches that faith is a gift from God. In the list of spiritual gifts in 1 Corinthians 12, verse nine includes faith as one of those gifts, "TO ANOTHER FAITH BY THE SAME SPIRIT." Catholics claim Peter was the first "pope," but 1 Peter 5:5b says, "AND BE CLOTHED WITH HUMILITY: FOR GOD RESISTETH THE PROUD, AND GIVETH GRACE TO THE HUMBLE." Bishop Wuerl is telling people to do something God "RESISTETH."

To those trusting in Christ ALONE for salvation, faith is a gift of God that should humble the Christian. But for the Catholic, "faith" is something to be "proud" of. This love of pride shows why the Roman Catholic Church is in fact - antichrist!

Rome Changes the Rules......Again

Before the Roman "Jesus" lets any US Catholics into heaven, he'd better check first on how the US Conference of Catholic Bishops have set up their liturgical calendar!

The 'Catholic News Service,' the official news organ of the US bishops, published a July 17 article titled, "No Mass Obligation Nov 1, but Dec 8 Obligation Remains." The article said:

"This year because All Saints Day, Nov 1, falls on a Saturday, the usual obligation of US Latin-rite Catholics to attend Mass that day is abrogated...The Mass obligation remains for the feast of the Immaculate Conception, Dec 8, even though that is a Monday. In 1992 the Vatican approved a decision by the US bishops to lift the obligation to attend Mass on three holy days, Jan 1, Aug 15, and Nov 1, when they fall back-to-back with Sunday -- that is, on a Saturday or Monday. When that occurs, the feast is still celebrated liturgically on the appointed day, only the obligation of Mass attendance is lifted."

Some thoughts:

1. Missing Mass on Nov 1, 2002 put a US Catholic into a state of mortal sin resulting in the "loss of heaven," as well as the "pains of hell." Whereas, missing Mass on Nov 1, 2003 will not cause mortal sin.

2. Missing Mass on Jan 1, Aug 15, and Nov 1, before 1992 automatically put a US Catholic in mortal sin, but since then - only if it happens on Tuesdays through Fridays!

3. How do the rules work if a US Catholic is in a foreign country on one of those days?

4. No wonder Catholic parishes are so diligent in passing out church "calendars."

The real Jesus Christ of the bible does NOT make such ludricrous rules. Hebrews 13:8 says, "JESUS CHRIST THE SAME YESTERDAY, AND TO DAY, AND FOR EVER." But Catholics, in their rejection of Christ, prefer to make up their own ever-changing rules. This ongoing changing of the importance of "feast days" once again shows the Roman Church to be in fact - antichrist!

Catholic Subversion This Week

US Catholic bishops this week will again be sounding the war drums intending to add support for the illegal and Catholic immigration into the USA. A Catholic-sponsored "National Migration Conference" will be held in Washington, DC, this July 6-10.

During the week, US Catholic bishops will be sending out over 700 refugee and immigration advocates to meet with members of Congress. They hope to show many members of Congress a film called, 'Children of War,' a documentary about children in war-torn nations. In addition, the US bishops have somehow dug up 200 Sudanese youth to meet with members of Congress.

It's interesting that the Catholic Church pretends to "care" for children from around the world, yet protects those who sexually molest children in the USA!!

The Catholic Church doesn't care one whit about children! But it has no qualms about taking advantage of the sad plight of refugees from around the world, and using them as propaganda "fodder" in an effort to keep the US Congress from passing laws designed to protect the USA from what Rome so desperately wants - the continued weakening of the USA by turning our southwestern states into provinces of Mexico.

Today is July 4, Independence Day in the United States. Many have died protecting our liberty since 1776. Please pray daily that our Lord protects the USA from that greatest enemy of liberty - the Roman Catholic Church.
